Slane

Poet

What air did you breathe?

What peace inspired your mind and heart?

What violence thundered your thoughts to verse?

What people, what love, instilled immortal words?

Upon the Slane, the dust of centuries

Has power to touch the faithless,

Who may live to die in prayer.

Poet

What air do you breathe?

What peace inspires your mind and heart?

What violence thunders your praise?

What beings, what Love instills everlasting songs?

Upon the Throne a pristine moment of existence

Has the power to touch God into remembering dust.
